33 Ways BookCybersecurityMarketingPodcastPromotion

Authors, Do You Podcast?

Call to Action: Authors should consider podcasts to market books.

Book Marketing

Authors, podcasts are an excellent venue for you to tell the audience about you, your career, why you wrote a book, your writing process, and how readers can follow up with you.

Storytelling

When I joined Alastair McDermott on the 33 Ways Not To Screw Up podcast, he asked me excellent questions centered around story problems that I addressed in my award-winning book, 33 Ways Not To Screw Up Cybersecurity, and if I had one to share that was not included in the book. Indeed I did! The podcast allowed me to motivate potential readers and share my expertise. Knowledge-sharing is a primary reason for my writing the book. I enjoyed every minute of the experience.

Podcast Audio and Video

If you reach a good flow state during the podcast, you may want to share the video, as I am doing here. Of course, the podcast host is vital, so choose wisely. I highly recommend Alastair McDermott, who also hosts his podcast, The Recognized Authority. Alastair is courteous, sincere, well-prepared, and experienced in making his guests shine. I would be happy to join him on a future XXX podcast.

Podcast Networking

During my book promotion, podcast hosts are contacting me to join them. Beyond selling more books, impacting more readers, and increasing my visibility as an author, expanding my network of potential podcasts is priceless. To date, I have done four podcasts and two LinkedIn Live sessions. I am looking to double that number as part of my marketing strategy.

Promotion Through July 1st

My current eBook promotion for 99 cents on Amazon runs until July 1st.

Keep in mind that cybersecurity is still a hot topic in the summer because hackers do not take summer vacations.

Remember to be cyber-savvy all year long.

There is hope.
